Immanuel, God with us is a concept we have grown up with because hindsight is 20/20.  Turning concepts into reality is another thing.  If we make the mistake of just going by feelings, we are going to have a limited experience of the Lord.  Satan will make sure we have some bad feelings.  God with us in the good times and the bad.
