Thanksgiving is a great holiday.  No one is upset about Santa Clause trying to rip Jesus off from His birthday.  No big drama about presents and who got what for who.  Thanksgiving is just mostly about food and family.  Thanksgiving is also about God and His bountiful gifts in each of our lives.  The Pilgrims were the first to celebrate Thanksgiving here in the United States.  A Pilgrim is someone who goes on a journey to a sacred place as an act of religious devotion.  The Pilgrims believed God had called them to this great Country.  They were thankful for a good harvest because without it they would die.  We too are pilgrims passing through this life on a journey heading to a holy place.  We also need to get in the habit of offering thanks to our Father for His abundant provision.
