The apostle John was considered the apostle of love.  God had given him a great revelation about the love of God.  God has been misunderstood many times as being a harsh taskmaster that beats people into submission so that they fall in line with His plan.  This was a gross misunderstanding.  Then came Jesus.  Jesus, being God’s only begotten Son, was God’s gift to mankind.  Jesus came to not only save us, but to also show us a glimpse of what the Father is really like.  Jesus, God’s gift to mankind, is the Gift that keeps on giving.  Jesus gives us love, health, prosperity, purpose, well-being, and best of all eternal life.
