Love can be complicated sometimes.  I have seen it go from “love is a many splendor thing to fatal attraction” in a matter of weeks.  Love can make the sanest person insane with jealousy.  Why is love so confusing?  Love originated from God because God is love.  So what happened?  Sin has messed love up in our minds.  Unfortunate, but some people have never been introduced to a loving God.  They only know a “no fun” God or a God that is only about justice and not grace.
